HTC had outed several devices that would be seeing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, and amongst those devices was the HTC Thunderbolt. Now unfortunately back when HTC revealed their Android 4.0 plans, there was no mention of a specific release date, but thanks to an alleged leaked email from HTC, testing of Android 4.0 is apparently underway and that they are currently looking for ten HTC Thunderbolt owners to participate in the soak test.
There could be multiple explanations for this. Skype may not be finished incorporating QIK into their existing set up, which may be a vital component for video chat in app form. It may also be Verizon plans to offer Skype for Video on their first true 4G LTE device, such as the LG Optimus 2X.
Neither Verizon nor Skype were available to speak on the matter, but as per the email above, Skype Video has been removed from the Thunderbolt.
