Acer looks to be making a new tab behind closed doors.
The company latest tab can probably be the Acer Iconia Tab A220, which is believed to be the tablet in benchmarks.
The tab has an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, quad-core 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. While the benchmarks don’t provide any data about the tab screen size, 1280 x 752 will be the resolution and we can anticipate the screen size of a 7-inch.
It was unveiled that Acer had procrastinated Windows RT tabs. The Acer company is getting its time to look how Microsoft’s own tab- the Surface – will fare.
At the same time the Acer had originally scheduled to roll out Windows RT tabs early next year, now it has procrastinated the shipments till at least the 2nd quarter of 2013.
The Acer Iconia Tablet A510 was released in the US back in April for 449$/ 24,000 rupees, released in June in India. The A510 is rival to high-end devices. With the Asus Transformer Prime coming in at 50,000 Rs, and featuring also a quad-core Tegra 3 SoC processor, Acer simply could gain a boost up on the rivalry.
The A510’s has an Android 4.0 ICS OS, 1.3GHz processor with 1GB RAM, complete the box with the new ‘Acer Ring’ UI layered on top. And it has internal memory of 32GB, expandable with a MicroSD memory card.
Unluckily the A510 doesn’t appears to have a standard USB port for thumb drives etc.
Acer for the better audio performance has united Dolby Mobile 3+ audio engine with the twin stereo speakers. Also the tab has a 9800mAh battery.
